Privacy Policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
- Squinty only sends a document when you click Review.
- We never sell your data, show ads, or track you across sites.
- Your emails, selected text, and PDFs are reviewed and then discarded.
- We don't ask for your name or email. A random ID counts your free reviews.
What Squinty is
Squinty is a browser extension that reads terms of service, privacy policies, policy emails, and financial offers, then grades them and explains what they mean in plain language.
What we collect
The document you ask us to review. When you click Review, Squinty sends the document's text (or the PDF), its page title, and its web address to the Squinty server.
A random install ID. When you install Squinty, it creates a random code that isn't connected to your name, email, or accounts. The server uses it only to count how many free reviews you've used this week. Those counts are deleted automatically after 10 days.
Your state, if you choose to set it. Squinty uses it only to point out the parts of a policy that apply where you live.
Nothing else. We don't collect your browsing history, contacts, location, or account details, and we don't use analytics or advertising trackers.
How a review works
The Squinty server sends the document to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, which produces the review. Anthropic processes the document under its commercial terms and privacy policy, which you can read at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
What we keep
Public web pages: when you review a policy on a public website, we save the review (not your identity) for up to 30 days. If someone else reviews the same policy, they get the saved review instantly and it doesn't count against their limit.
Private documents: emails, text you select, and PDFs are never saved on our server. Once the review is sent back to you, they're gone.
Your review history is stored only in your own browser. You can clear it any time in Squinty's settings, and uninstalling Squinty removes it.
Page access
Squinty installs without access to any website. When you click its icon, it can read that one page. If you choose to allow broader access, Squinty can read the pages you open so it can spot policies and light up its icon. That check happens inside your browser. Nothing leaves your computer until you click Review.
Who we share with
Only the service providers needed to run Squinty: Anthropic, which generates reviews, and Cloudflare, which hosts the Squinty server and handles basic connection information such as IP addresses to deliver the service. We don't store IP addresses ourselves. We never sell or rent your data.
Children
Squinty isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect or keep, we'll explain it inside Squinty before it takes effect.
